Chairman Sy, 69, Filipino, has been on the Chinabank board for 39 years, first elected in 1986. He also currently serves as Director of SM Prime Holdings, Inc.* (SMPH), as Adviser to the Board of SM Investments Corporation* (SMIC), and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of National University, Inc. (CBC-PCCI).  He was formerly the Chairman of Chinabank, and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BS Banking degree from De La Salle University.

Director Uyan, 62, Filipino, has been on the Chinabank board for two years, first elected in 2023. He also currently serves as Vice Chairman of China Bank Capital Corporation (Chinabank Capital) and as Director at China Bank Savings, Inc. (CBS) and China Bank Securities Corporation (Chinabank Securities).   He was formerly the Chief Operating Officer of Chinabank, the President of Chinabank Capital, the Managing Director & Co-Head of Asia Special Situations and Leveraged Capital Markets of UBS AG - Singapore Branch, and the Managing Director & Head of Asia Credit Products of Barclays Capital.  He holds an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management - Cornell University and a BS Management Engineering degree from the Ateneo de Manila University.

Margarita L. San Juan, 71, Filipino, has been on the Chinabank board for 8 years, first elected in 2017. She is also an Independent Director of Chinabank Insurance Brokers, Inc. (Chinabank Insurance), Chinabank Capital, and Resurgent Capital (FISTC-AMC) Inc. (RCI).  She previously served as the Bank’s Senior Vice President and Account Management Group Head until her retirement in 2012.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Major in Financial Management, from the University of the Philippines, and completed the Advanced Bank Management Program of the Asian Institute of Management (AIM).

Director Tsai, 74, Filipino, has been on the Chinabank board for 7 years, first elected in 2018. He also currently serves as Independent Director at CBS, Chinabank Capital, and CIBI.  He was formerly the Metro Manila South Region Head of Chinabank and holds an MBA from Roosevelt University and a BS Business Administration degree from the University of the Philippines.

He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree.

Atty. Elarmo, 48, Filipino, was appointed as Chinabank’s Corporate Secretary in 2022. She joined the Bank’s Office of the Corporate Secretary (OCS) in 2005, and became the Assistant Corporate Secretary in 2006 and the OCS Deputy Head in December 2021. She also served as the Corporate Secretary of CBC-PCCI from 2007 to 2021. She was formerly a Court Attorney at the Supreme Court of the Philippines and a Junior Associate at Cayetano Sebastian Ata Dado and Cruz Law Offices. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and BS Business Administration degrees from the University of the Philippines.
