China Banking Corporation (Chinabank) takes another step forward in its digital transformation journey as it becomes one of the first Philippine banks to enable Google Pay for all its Mastercard and Visa credit and debit cards. This partnership with Google brings more convenience, flexibility, and security to customers through seamless tap to pay and online payment experiences.

With this capability now in place, Chinabank customers can easily add their cards to Google Wallet and use their mobile phones or Android devices for contactless purchases in stores and secure online checkouts. No need to pull out their physical credit or debit card. This move marks another milestone in the Bank’s commitment to deliver modern, customer-focused financial solutions.

“Partnering with Google Pay perfectly aligns with our ‘Focused on You’ brand promise,” said Chinabank Payments Solutions Head Jose Julian Baduria Jr. “This initiative is part of our broader digital transformation strategy to make everyday banking more seamless, secure, and relevant to our customers’ changing lifestyles.”

We’re proud to work with Chinabank to bring faster, convenient and more secure payments to the Philippines. This launch underscores our enduring commitment to accelerating financial inclusion and fueling the next chapter of the Philippines’ dynamic digital economy,” said Google Philippines Country Manager Prep Palacios.

As digital payments continue to rise, Chinabank’s collaboration with Google Pay is poised to accelerate the shift away from cash, offering cardholders fast, contactless, and highly secure transactions both locally and internationally.

“Google Pay transactions are done with secure digital tokens.  Actual card details are never shared or stored on the device, significantly reducing the risk of fraud,” Baduria noted.  “Our goal is to give customers the freedom to pay how they want, wherever they are. By integrating with a trusted global platform like Google Pay, we’re bringing that convenience and confidence directly to their mobile devices.”
