Chinabank secured the Gold Award for Excellence in Addressing Urban Workforce Challenges at the HR Excellence Awards Philippines 2026, held on August 6 at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Taguig City.
The award highlights the bank’s people-centered initiatives that support professional development, well-being, and collaboration, reflecting its commitment to addressing the evolving needs of its workforce. These initiatives include the continued employee shuttle service beyond the pandemic, work arrangements that balance employee well-being with customer commitments, and the recent launch of a nationwide Share-A-Ride incentive program. Anchored on its core value of Concern for People, Chinabank continues to develop programs that help employees grow in their careers while navigating the demands of a dynamic workplace.
The bank was likewise named a finalist in three other categories: Employer of the Year, Excellence in Digital Transformation, and Excellence in Graduate Recruitment and Development, reflecting its broader efforts to advance its people practices and promote a culture that supports adaptability and continuous growth.
“Thank you to our employees, leaders, business partners, and CBC HR Team whose dedication made this achievement possible,” said Human Resources Group Head Tani Cruz. “Together, we will continue building a workplace where people come first and excellence follows.”
At the awarding ceremony, Cruz was joined by fellow HRG leaders, including Organization Development Division Head B. Franco Loyola, HR Business Solutions Department Head Gene Modequillo, Learning and Capability Development Division Head John Camarillo, Compensation & Benefits Support Department Officer Andrea Sarabia, HR Services Division Head Marvin Isleta, HR Strategic Support Division Head Rizza Salvino, Policies & Research Department Head Sohayla Zialcita, Talent Assessment & Selection Department Head Rhea Manalo, and Career Progression Management Department Head Dianna Navea.
Presented by Human Resources Online, the HR Excellence Awards honors organizations and HR leaders across the region that demonstrate innovative approaches to people management and effective workforce strategies, recognizing practices that contribute to organizational performance, innovation, and a stronger workplace culture.
This latest achievement further builds on Chinabank’s recent success at the Philippines' Best Employer Brand Awards 2026, where the bank clinched the Philippines Best Employer Brand Award and Cruz was named the Exemplary HR Leader, cementing the bank’s industry leadership in driving effective talent management and progressive workplace strategies.
