Chinabank won the Cesar E.A. Virata Award (Bank Category) and other distinctions at the 2024 Philippine Dealing System (PDS) Annual Awards last March 14 at the Makati Diamond Residences.

The Cesar E.A. Virata Award is PDS' highest honor for the most outstanding bank in the country in trading, distribution, settlement, and market making of fixed income securities in the previous year. Chinabank first won this coveted award in 2022.

Chinabank was also recognized this year as the Top Brokering Participant for Retail Transactions, Top Fixed-Income Dealing Participant, Top 2 Corporate Securities Market Maker, and Top 3 Fixed-Income Brokering Participant. Meanwhile, Chinabank Capital was named as the Top 3 Corporate Issue Manager/Arranger (Investment House Category).

“We are honored for these awards which attest to Chinabank's commitment to the deepening of the capital market. The recognition also served as a validation of the hard work of the team in the trading and distribution of fixed income securities and in the continuing effort to add value to the Chinabank franchise,” Financial Markets Segment Head Ollie Palanca said.

Chinabank has been consistently recognized at the PDS Awards. At last year's awarding, the bank and its investment banking arm bagged a total of five awards.

The PDS Annual Awards recognize member institutions for their outstanding performance, leadership, and overall contribution to the development of the Philippine capital markets.
