Chinabank commenced the construction of its future headquarters, the Chinabank Makati Tower, with a groundbreaking ceremony on February 24, 2024.

To rise 32 stories high beside the bank’s current head office along Villar St., the Chinabank Makati Tower will be a modern office complex with a floor area of about 76,421 square meters and six levels of basement parking.

At the groundbreaking were Chinabank directors and senior officers led by Chairman Hans Sy, President & CEO Romeo Uyan Jr., and CFO Patrick Cheng, and the design and construction team led by Architects Manny Sy and Willy and Gary Coscolluela, and Engineer Art Carlos.

The Chinabank Makati Tower was designed to be a LEED Certified Building (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLC, with the architect-of-record, W. V. Coscolluela & Associates. It will have a striking yet energy-efficient glass façade and sustainable features like solar panels, green roofs, and native landscaping. New Golden City Builders was tapped as the building contractor.

Construction is expected to be completed by September 2028.
