Frequently Asked Questions

Online Account Application or OAA is a new feature of My CBC, and a replacement of the CBC START App. It allows eligible new customers to apply for ATM Savings and OKS Peso Savings accounts online.

To open an account online, you must:

  • Be a Filipino citizen
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Not have an existing Chinabank account
  • Have a permanent Philippine address
  • Have an active mobile number and email address
  • Possess a valid Philippine-issued ID 

For OKS Peso Savings, you must be an OFW or a beneficiary of an OFW.

The following Philippine-issued IDs are accepted:

  • Philippine Passport
  • Driver's License
  • PhilSys ID (PhilID and ePhilID)
  • Postal ID
  • UMID
  • SSS ID
  • Voter's ID
  1. Download My CBC, then tap "Open your account now" 

  1. Select your desired account type 

  1. Complete the eligibility and information forms 

  1. Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number or email 

  1. Scan your valid ID and take a selfie 

  1. Sign online, review, and submit your application 

  1. Create your My CBC username and password 

 

There will be a two-day application review for us to verify the information and documents you provided. 

Once approved, you may log in to My CBC to view your account and start your digital banking journey!

How do I access my new account details? 

You may log in to My CBC to access your account details. 

 

Can I open an account from overseas? 

Yes, provided you meet the requirements and have an active mobile number and/or email address. 

 

Can I open a joint account online? 

Only ATM Savings and OKS Peso Savings accounts can be opened via My CBC OAA. Visit your nearest Chinabank branch to open a Joint account. 

 

Can I readily use my new account for mobile banking? 

Yes. If approved, your new account is immediately ready for mobile banking transactions. Make sure to deposit money to your account to perform banking transactions like transfer funds, and bills payment. 

 

Can I make over-the-counter (OTC) transactions? 

Yes, but you must request the branch to lift the OTC restriction. Bring your original ID and a statement of account (SOA) with the address used during online application.

It says that my application cannot be processed online. What should I do? 

Verify the accuracy of your information and try again. If you encounter the same error, you may call our hotline at +632 888-55-888 or visit a Chinabank branch near you for assistance. 

 

Can I edit my information during review? 

Yes, if you do it before final submission. Use the "Back" button to edit your information. 

Once your application is submitted, you can no longer edit your information. Make sure to review your details before submitting. 

 

I am encountering a selfie error. What should I do? 

Retake your selfie in a well-lit area with a plain background, without accessories, and hold your phone in portrait mode. 

 

What if I receive an invalid OTP error? 

You may request for a new OTP and make sure to enter it correctly within two (2) minutes. 

 

 

I am encountering an ID upload error. What should I do? 

Ensure your ID is valid, not blurred, and all edges are visible. Scan your ID in a well-lit area, with dark background, and ensure camera permissions are enabled, with your flash turned off. 

 

I am getting an error while filling out the form. What should I do?

What should I do if I realize I made an error on my submitted application? 

For assistance, please call our hotline at +632 888-55-888 or proceed to your nearest Chinabank Branch.

How soon must I fund my account? 

ATM Savings accounts require immediate funding. Make sure to maintain an Average Daily Balance (ADB) of at least P2,000 per month to avoid charges. Fund your account via online transfer from another Chinabank account for FREE, or from other banks or eWallets. 

 

How do I compute my ADB? 

To compute your ADB: 

ADB = (Sum of daily ending balances) / (Number of days in the period). 

 

How do I request for an ATM card? 

You may request an ATM card at your nearest Chinabank branch. Standard processing times apply.
