In support of the Bureau of the Treasury's (BTr) efforts to raise funds for the government's COVID-19 response and to encourage strong retail investor participation, Chinabank donated a condominium unit at SMDC Trees Residences as part of the grand prize for the 3rd quarter draw of Premyo Bonds. In a special turnover ceremony last September 23 at the Bureau of Treasury's head office in Intramuros, Manila, Chinabank President William Whang, together with Treasurer Rosalia de Leon, awarded the SMDC condominium unit donated by Chinabank and P1 million to the 3rd quarter draw grand prize winner, Mary Jane Conde, a housewife from Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

Chinabank President William Whang noted that the Bank is happy to support the BTr's initiatives to make investing more inclusive and rewarding. "Kudos to BTr for removing the barriers to investing in government bonds. By making investing affordable, accessible via mobile app, and rewarding through Premyo Bonds, you have empowered Filipinos from all walks of life to invest in their future, and at the same time, to take part in nation building," he said.

The winners of the 3rd quarter draw, including the Mrs. Conde, were identified through their Electronic Reward Numbers (ERNs). The list of winning ERNs are posted at www.treasury.gov.ph.

The government was able to raise P6.56 billion from Premyo Bonds 2, more than twice the target of P3 billion. Chinabank was one of the partner banks that offered the bonds for sale, and Chinabank Capital was one of the joint issue managers for the first and second Premyo Bonds.
