China Banking Corporation (China Bank) expands its foreign currency deposits by offering a China Bank Yuan Savings Account.
Initially available in selected China Bank branches*, the China Bank Yuan Savings Account is intended to cater to clients' trade, investment and remittance requirements for the currency. With the rise of China as one of the world's biggest economies and leading trading partner for most countries, including the Philippines, the Chinese Yuan is poised to become an important currency not just for businesses' transactions with China but also for individuals' investment needs, as China is expected to further liberalize policies relating to the Yuan that include possibilities for Yuan-denominated investment instruments.
The minimum initial deposit and maintaining balance for China Bank Yuan Savings Account is CNY 2,500. It is interest-earning and comes with a passbook. The account is accessible over-the-counter at selected servicing branches or via the internet, 24/7, through China Bank Online, China Bank’s multi-awarded internet banking portal. Customers can convert their Yuan in this account to Dollar or Peso, subject to the rules of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on foreign exchange.
Aside from Yuan, China Bank offers savings deposit accounts in US Dollar and Euro currencies.
